He is a graduate of Economics from University of Ibadan and Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) from University of Calabar.

He started his professional career in Personnel Management and Administration in 1972 with Exxon Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited as Personnel Assistant. He worked in several units and departments including Personnel Administration, Compensation & Benefits, Human Resource & Services, Employee Relations and Administration. He distinguished himself in the company and rose to become the Executive Director, Administration (first Nigerian to be appointed to this position) in 1987. He retired as the Executive Vice Chairman in 2001.

An astute and experienced administrator, he led Exxon Mobil for a 20-year unprecedented industrial peace and harmony and also provided leadership to manpower and human capital development and the nigerianisation of key positions in the oil industry. He led the oil industry employers in the resolution of industrial action by PENGASSAN in Nov/Dec 2000, which prevented a major crisis in the Nigerian Oil Industry. He also played a key role in the safety, security and health of the oil industry and also provided the blue print on housing that resulted in the home ownership scheme policy for employees in the oil industry in Nigeria.

In 1998, he wrote a book on Issues in Corporate and Human Resources Management in the Oil Industry. He has written and presented several papers at different forum world wide on human resource management.

Otunba Oladunni is widely traveled and has attended so many courses and several management meetings in UK, Germany, France, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Japan, korea, Canada and USA.

He has held several key positions in the past such as the President, Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria; Chairman, Oil Explorers & Producers Trade Group; Chairman, Petroleum and Natural Gas Employers Association and Member, Governing Council of Nigeria Employers Consultative Association, (NECA). He is currently on the board of several companies including:

• Solton International Hotels
• NeGSt Global Integrated Company Ltd.

Otunba Oladunni is a member of several professional associations namely:

He is a philanthropist and has passion for excellence. He built and donated laboratories and block of classrooms to schools, mobilized funds for church buildings and awards scholarship to students in secondary schools and tertiary institutions in Nigeria. As a result, he has received many awards and honours. He is the leader of Akoko Division in Ondo State.

He is married with children.
